Female arousal
- Q: When a female is
sexually excited, what physical characteristics happen?
- Dr. Klein: Sexual excitement
is typically accompanied by one or more of the following: increased heart
and pulse rate, reddening of the skin, nipples getting erect and more sensitive,
lubrication of the vagina, erection of the penis or clitoris, and an increase
in the threshold of pain. Later stages of excitement can also include arching
the back, clutching of fingers or toes, leaking a tiny bit of pre-ejaculatory
fluid from the penis, and a desire to bite or grab, or be bitten or grabbed.
If you have a partner and you're curious about her excitement pattern, ask
her.
