Tight vagina

• Q: My wife and I are learning to have sex together. Her vagina is much too tight for either of us to enjoy it. What do you recommend?
• Dr. Klein: I recommend slowing down, spending more time arousing each other, de-emphasizing intercourse, and using a lubricant when you do have intercourse. A healthy vagina can stretch to accommodate even the largest penis -- when the woman feels safe, cared for, and aroused. Talk with your wife about her experience of sex, and find out exactly how and where she likes to be touched. Experiment with a variety of sexual behaviors such as oral sex. A lubricant such as K-Y or Astrolube will also make things easier.

  When your wife is truly excited, tightness probably won't be a problem. If this does not help, your wife should consult a nurse or physician.
