Visual orientation
- Q: Why do men respond
more erotically to visual stimuli than women?
- Dr. Klein: There are two
interlocking reasons. First, the male brain is simply designed differently
than the female brain in this regard. From an evolutionary point of view,
it's easy to imagine that primitive man needed visual skills more while
hunting, while primitive woman needed more emotional skills while tending
the hearth. Second, because our culture is so ambivalent about female sexuality,
it displays female eroticism for male consumption far, far more than the
opposite.
